8 Day – Uganda Birding Extravaganza

An 8-day immersion into Uganda’s richest birding habitats—from wetlands and forests to savannahs and lakes.

Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport – Mabamba Swamp

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet and greet with our representative who will then introduce to your Birding expert and driver – guide. Later transfer for 1 hr. to Mabamba Swamp. Afternoon lunch at 14:00–17:00 then enjoy a guided boat trip (Shoebill, African pygmy- goose, malachite kingfisher, papyrus gonolek). Evening return for dinner and overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2 – Transfer from Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning breakfast then after drive for 5 hrs. to Lake Mburo. Afternoon Lunch at 14:00–17:30 later enjoy a game drive with birding focus (African finfoot, fish eagle, malachite kingfisher, hammerkop). Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Morning Birding in Lake Mburo – Afternoon Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth N.P

Early morning bird walk followed by breakfast then after drive for 3 hrs. to Queen Elizabeth NP. Lunch at 14:30–17:30 then evening game drive focusing on savannah birds (yellow-throated longclaw, Ruppell’s weaver, kori bustard, hornbills). Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Morning Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel and Afternoon Game Drive in Ishasha

Morning at 06:00–09:00 boat cruise on Kazinga Channel (African skimmer, Goliath heron, malachite kingfisher, African fish eagle). Afternoon Lunch at 14:00–17:30 enjoy a drive to Ishasha for the famous tree-climbing lions, stop for birding (southern ground hornbill, African grass owl, green barbet). Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Transfer from Queen Elizabeth – Kibale National Park

Breakfast and after drive for 3–4 hrs. to Kibale Forest. Afternoon lunch then from 14:00–17:30 guided forest birding walk (Great blue turaco, Red-tailed monkey bird, Green-breasted pitta, Nahan’s francolin). Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Kibale National Park: Morning Birding and Afternoon Visit to Bigodi swamp

Breakfast then from 06:30–12:00 forest trek (Birding focus: African green broadbill, African paradise flycatcher, grey-headed oliveback). Afternoon after Lunch, then visit to Bigodi swamp. Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Transfer from Kibale Forest – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, drive for 3–4 hrs. to Bwindi forest with scenic stops. Afternoon after lunch, 14:00–17:30 head out for a guided forest birding walk (bar-tailed trogon, black-billed turaco, Chapin’s flycatcher, Congo serpent eagle). Evening return for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – Optional Bird walk or Visit the waterfalls– Transfer to Entebbe for your Departure

Optional early morning bird walk for endemic highland species (Grauer’s warbler, Rwenzori turaco) or visit the waterfalls in bwindi forest. Late Breakfast then after drive for 8 hrs. Or fly to Entebbe for your onward departure flight.
