Located in southwestern Uganda, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient rainforest ecosystem, rare wildlife, and life-changing gorilla trekking experiences. The forest dates back over 25,000 years and shelters hundreds of plant, bird, and mammal species.

Trekking difficulty varies depending on gorilla family location. Some treks last 2–3 hours, while others may take longer through steep forest terrain.
Yes. Bwindi is well protected by Uganda Wildlife Authority and professional ranger teams. Visitors are escorted at all times during trekking activities.
Each gorilla family is visited by a maximum of 8 people per day to protect the animals and environment.
Waterproof hiking boots, long sleeves, and a rain jacket are recommended. Walking sticks can be rented at park headquarters.
